Elli B. Tzatzanis-StepanovicElli B. TZATZANIS-STEPANOVIC received her MSc of Commerce from the Vienna University of Economics and Business. She has been Project Manager at the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) in the Division of European and International Programmes (EIP) since 2004.

As certified Senior Project Manager and certified Scrum Master for Agile Project Management she is currently working in two H2020 projects, i.e. ENRICH in China, managing services to strengthen Sino-European STI collaboration, and FutureProof, utilising foresight and scenario planning methodologies to co-develop novel innovation services for SMEs.

Andrew Smith
Andrew SmithAndrew Smith joined ELIXIR in 2011. As Head of External Relations, Andy now manages a small team responsible for ELIXIR’s communication activities, website, industry engagement, international collaboration and socio-economic impact assessment. In addition, Andy is responsible for engagement with existing and prospective Member States of ELIXIR and leads on ELIXIR’s engagement with the EU institutions.

Previously he worked in Brussels for the UK Research Office (UKRO), covering various research programme and policy fields, including FP7 National Contact Point helpdesks and supporting UK delegations to FP7 Programme Committees. Andy BleadenAndy Bleaden works for ECHAlliance as the Director for Ecosystems and Membership after joining the ECHAlliance in 2017 to lead on funding. He has had long career in both funding, health and social care going back over 30 years starting in the mental health field working with mentally disordered offenders, homeless young people and then later in the field of dementia. Andy has for the last 18 years working in the UK and Europe for Stockport Council where he also specialised in Adult Social Care, Robotics, Telehealth and Telemedicine, Economic Development, Regeneration and Dementia. He also formed alliances with pan European groups most recently with the EIP-AHA, Coral and Covenant for Demographic Change as well with ECHAlliance with the Greater Manchester Ecosystem.

In addition, he has also been working as an External Expert for the European Commission since 2013 and also with the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) on the new Health KIC and Manufacturing KIC assessing proposals and business plans as well as evaluating Grant Reporting since 2015 and also working for the new Urban Innovation Actions since 2016 as an expert as well as with Urbact as a thematic expert.
He brings a wealth of experience and skills in securing and management of strategic external funding, procurement, innovation funding and forming and development large and complex partnerships across Europe.
In this role now Andy leads on ECHAlliance ecosystems and membership at a period of unparalleled growth in our Ecosystem Network with new ecosystems opening all over Europe and globally as well.

Corneliu Munteanu
Professor Ph.D. Munteanu Corneliu Professor Ph.D. Munteanu Corneliu,  corresponding member of the Technical Sciences Academy of  Romania, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering – ”Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi,  has expertise in developing and characterizing of Mg-based biodegradable, biocompatible alloys, thermal coatings and modern methods of micro and nano structural characterization . He has published 179 scientific articles indexed by ISI Web of Knowledge / Scopus, of which over 70 papers with ISI Web of Science impact factor (11-Q1; 10-Q2), with over 550 citations in high ranked  journals (H-index ISI / Scopus: 15/15). He is the author of 11 patents and has coordinated and completed 20 doctoral thesis in the field of Materials Engineering with specific applications in the field of biomaterials and surface engineering. He is a CNATDCU member and has published 9 books, including one book in Springer Publishing House. As a project manager he coordinated a number of 9 national projects obtained through competition and was also a member of 7 other research, development and innovation programs. Among them, Prof. Munteanu Corneliu coordinates (2018-2021) a complex project in the field of "Health" regarding the obtaining, testing and expertise of biocompatible materials with medical applications.

He has a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering domain with SUMMA CUM LAUDE in the field of biomaterials. Istrate Bogdan has published 94 ISI Web of Knowledge / Scopus indexed scientific articles, of which over 33 papers with ISI Web of Science impact factor (5-Q1; 4-Q2), with over 160 citations in high impact journals (ISI / Scopus H-index: 8/9). He is the author of 4 patent applications, 1 patent and 2 books. Ciprian Morcan
Ciprian MorcanFrom 2012 until now he is general manager of the Transylvanian Furniture Cluster where he ensures the coordination and implementation of the cluster projects. Cluster Mobilier Transilvan is the first Cluster in Romania to obtain GOLD LABEL. The cluster obtained funding for important Research-Development and Innovation projects, software projects and funded projects for the development of Research-Development and Innovation infrastructure.

In addition, he was one of the founders of the Cluster Consortium of Northern Transylvania, promoting cross-sectoral collaboration and ecosystem development in the North-West Region of Romania. He coordinated the preparation and realization of the events: the International Cluster Conference, "Clusters - unique business models", which took place in Cluj-Napoca, on June 4-5, 2015 and "Transylvanian Clusters Conference - Open Innovation", held in Cluj -Napoca between June 23-24, 2016.

Mrs Iulia Mihail is from Bucharest, Romania. She has studied at the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Technological Physics. In 1984 she got the title of “Physics Engineer” with the specialisation on semiconductors. For 9 years she worked at the “Fine Mechanics” Factory in Bucharest having in charge the laboratory of vacuum deposition of titanium nitride. From 1993 she is working, as public servant, at the Romanian Ministry of Education and Research, in the Directorate for European Affairs and International Cooperation. She used to be involved in the Framework Programmes in CSA projects, also as an evaluator, and she acts as an expert for the DG Research and Innovation, EC. She is H2020 National Contact Point (NCP) coordinator and national delegate for some Programme Committee. She is the national representative in several working groups of the Council (SFIC, ESFRI, SWG OSI). Starting with 2008 she is the head of ROST, the ministerial national liaison office for R&D&I in Brussels.

Mátyus Enikő

Mátyus Enikő manages Transylvania Regional Balneo-tourism Cluster from Romania since 2015, with the management entity in the Business Incubator of Sf. Gheorghe, participating in the development of the business model of the incubator as a cluster house. Enikő also coordinated the iNNoHUB coworking space and implements mentoring and business accelerating programs. She wrote her master degree thesis about a holistic approach of RIS3 implementation though non-industrial clusters and started her PhD studies in 2020 at the Romania Business Academy.

Prof. Antonela TOMAMs. Antonela Toma is PhD in Mathematics, director of the Center for Research and Training in Innovative Techniques of Applied Mathematics in Engineering Traian Lalescu (CiTi) within the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Assoc. Prof. at the Department of Methods and Mathematical Models, University Politehnica of Bucharest. 

She is member of scientific committees of national and international conferences (WITDC-19: Workshop on Innovative Techniques, Diversity and Connectivity, The International Conference on Information Technology and Communication Security  (SecITC 2019, SecITC 2020), author of over 20 books in the field of Applied mathematics, Advanced mathematics.

A. Toma activated in the Center for Microscopy-Microanalysis and Information Processing from the University Politehnica of Bucharest and participated in The International Conferences on Transparent Optical Networks (ICTON). Her presentations cover new techniques in scanning near field optical microscopy used for investigations on the biological samples, from the perspective of applied mathematics.

Since 2007 she has been adviser at the General Directorate for Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Research (MER) and she is the representative of MER in international committees: - (BFUG) Bologna Follow-Up Group, European Quality Assurance Register (EQAR).

Francisco Revuelta
Francisco Florez Revuelta, PhD Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Technology, University of Alicante (Spain) where he belongs to the Domotics and Ambient Intelligence (DAI) research group. Between 2011 and 2016, he had several positions at Kingston University London, where he led the Theme on Technologies for Active and Assisted Living in the Interdisciplinary Hub for the Study of Health and Age-related conditions (IhSHA).

His research work is focused on ambient assisted living: person-environment interaction, computer vision, and support to the activities of daily living of elderly and/or disabled people. This is the area of application of his research background: computational intelligence (neural networks, evolutionary computation), computer vision, home automation, and assistive technologies.

Currently, Dr Florez is the coordinator of PAAL - Privacy-Aware and Acceptable Lifelogging services for older and frail people, funded under the framework of the transnational Joint Programming Initiative "More Years, Better Lives", and visuAAL - Privacy-Aware and Acceptable Video-Based Technologies and Services for Active and Assisted Living, a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network. He is also the Chair of the GoodBrother COST Action - International Network on Privacy-Aware Audio- and Video-Based Applications for Active and Assisted Living.

Cristine Kubiak
Christine Kubiak,PhD Christine Kubiak is Operations Director, overseeing ECRIN operations, quality and IS and common services, and contributing to strategic development of the infrastructure, expansion and capacity building activities.

She has over 30 years of experience in biomedical research; initially as researcher and then as project manager and coordinator of clinical programmes in the pharmaceutical industry, covering the planning, setup and management of multinational clinical trials in various therapeutic areas, and the coordination of multinational teams. Later she worked in an academic clinical trial unit managing projects and the quality system. 

At ECRIN since 2006, she played a key role in ECRIN’s FP6- and FP7-funded projects.

She is Pharmacist and has a PhD from University Paris XI in pharmaceutical sciences. She holds a Master in Quality Management from Bordeaux Management School and an Executive MBA from Milano Bicocca University (EMMRI).

Burc Aydin
Burç AydinBurç Aydin is a project manager at ECRIN. He is focusing primarily on infrastructure development projects and in particular those associated with the creation of new clinical trial methodology, namely platform trials.

Burç received his degree of Medical Doctor from the Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in Ankara, Turkey. He completed his residency in Medical Pharmacology at the Department of Medical Pharmacology, Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Medicine in Izmir, Turkey. He worked as scientific advisor (Immuno-Oncology) for Bristol-Myers Squibb, Istanbul, Turkey. His last position was medical manager (Hematology) at Janssen, Istanbul, Turkey.

Bianca Muntean
Bianca MunteanBianca Muntean is the Cluster Manager of Gold Labeled Transilvania IT with over 20 years of experience in ecosystem building.

She is a member of the European Cluster Expert Group, DG Grow, European Commission and also has an active participation in different Consultative Councils dealing with digital transformation at local, regional and national level.

Bianca was awarded the EU Cluster Manager of the Year title for 2019 and she is involved in engaging cross-sectoral collaborations all over Europe. Bianca is also recipient for the Open Innovation Award in 2017 granted by the European Commission, The Open Innovation Strategy and Policy Group. In her quality of Transilvania IT Cluster Manager founded and coordinates the fully operational Transilvania Digital Innovation Hub.

Johnatan Ramirez
Jonathan Gómez Raja, PhD PhD in Microbiology from University of Extremadura (Spain) and Postdoc at the University of Minnesota (USA). Additionally, he is Master in International R&D programs management from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain). He is an expert in Genetics and Molecular Biology and his research has been focused on human fungal diseases. He has developed his career in USA, India, Germany and Spain. Author of several articles published in scientific journals as well as book chapters. He has participated as researcher and principal investigator in several research projects and coordinator in both national and international scientific activities. He has also received several postdoctoral fellowships and other awards by the Regional Government and the Federation of European Microbiological Societies; FEMS. He has been adjunct professor at the University of Extremadura and currently is Scientific Coordinator at FundeSalud (Regional Ministry of Health and Social Services at Government of Extremadura). His principal aim is to promote research, innovation and internationalization in the health and social care system in the autonomous region of Extremadura.

Ana-Maria Onica
Ana-Maria OnicaOnică Ana-Maria co-founder & CEO Uberpixel - Ana worked previously as UI/UX designer on e-learning platforms for children from Malta, Dubai and Romania; comes with 10 years of experience as a designer for mobile and web. Ana was closely involved in the development of the VoxiKids project, building the branding part, and the user experience throughout the platform. Since 2018, she has been involved in analyzing the reference market in order to detect the real need of final consumers and the trends of consumers such as parents and speech therapists. In 2020, she focused on launching a new concept in the niche of speech therapy, the online event #LogopedieConectat, a series of awareness webinars dedicated to parents who have children with speech disorders. Michael Joseph
Michael Joseph, PhD Dr Michael Joseph is an experienced health innovation partnership management professional. Currently, he manages research and innovation partnerships in Health and MedTech and is also a visiting Lecturer in Global Health in Brunel University London. He is currently actively involved in the commercialisation of a CoVID-19 testing device. Cristina Florescu Moraid MD

Dr. Florescu Moraid got her Medical Doctor Diploma in 1998 from „Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania and was accredited as Laboratory Medicine Specialist in 2005 and as Senior Laboratory Medicine Specialist in 2011, by the Romanian College of Physicians.

She got her Master of Science Diploma in 2006 , accomplished Postgraduated School of Clinical Trials Management, Gdansk in 2012 and the Postgraduated Leadership Development Programme at University of Sussex, UK in 2014. Dr. Florescu Moraid was responsible for clinical trials operations at Synevo Central Lab, the clinical research wing of Swedish Medicover Group as Regional Director for Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria and Serbia between 2005-2018. She has been organizing Synevo Clinical Trials Symposium for 10 years.

Since beginning of 2019, she is Co-founder of Avantyo - Institute of Clinical Research and CEO of Camina Medical Experts, developing tailored CT services for pharma sponsors, CROs and mid-size biotech companies.

She is invited speaker for different scientific events and acts as active advocate for rising awareness over the importance of developing clinical trials for the patient’s benefit.

Felix Arion
Professor Felix Arion, PhD He is economist specialized in agricultural and rural management and rural development strategies, General Director of AgroTransilvania Cluster (Gold labelled cluster) and, the Head of Department of Economic Sciences. Obtained a joined PhD at UASVM Cluj-Napoca in consulting the agricultural and rural companies. It has been involved into 21 international research (EU funds, World Bank funds, other) and development projects (Leonardo da Vinci, ERASMUS, IP, other) projects, 2 of them as project manager and for 12 as institutional coordinator with a wide range of partners from Europe, USA and not only.
